Tina, one of our students from Amisewaka – DLCC, has proven that perseverance and hard work pave the way to success. As the daughter of a farmer and a homemaker, Tina’s journey with us has been filled with challenges and inspiration. Despite a hardworking and limited-resource environment, she has always been supported by her parents, who are dedicated to their children’s education.
Tina joined Amisewaka – DLCC in July 2023 and initially faced difficulties adapting to culinary training. With no basic cooking knowledge, she had to put in extra effort to master all the lessons. Tina’s determination, however, led her to seek on-the-job training at the Trans Resort. As part of her internship, Tina had the opportunity to perform live performances in front of guests and work in the pastry section. Tina’s transformation was remarkable; from someone with no cooking experience, she evolved into someone who could showcase her skills in a five-star hotel setting. Her pastry creations included pancakes, carrot cake, cookies, apple filling, chocolate mousse, muffins, crepes, and apple pie.
Tina didn’t just hone her technical skills in the kitchen; she also developed the professional attitude essential in the hospitality industry. Appearance, attitude, initiative, discipline, adaptability, relationship building with colleagues and guests, communication, teamwork, and work speed are some values she learned and applied. These comprehensive skills and values earned her the accolade of Best Trainee in the culinary field.
On June 13, 2024, Tina received a certificate of recognition from I Made Agus Suriyawan (Chef de Cuisine) at the Trans Resort. This award is given to students who demonstrate outstanding performance during their internship. We at Amisewaka – DLCC are very proud of Tina’s achievement, and it further reminds us that dreams can come true with the proper support and hard work.
