Amisewaka – DLCC (DLCC), in collaboration with the Government of Les Village, proudly organized the AmiLaib Segara Wana Trail Run, its first trail-running event designed to promote an active lifestyle and sustainable village tourism. More than a sports event, AmiLaib served as a meaningful platform to introduce Les Village’s natural and cultural potential to a wider audience.
The name AmiLaib originates from Amisewaka Melaib, meaning “Running Together with Amisewaka.” The event carried the theme “Segara Wana Trail Run,” inspired by the Balinese words “Segara” (meaning sea) and “Wana” (meaning forest). This theme reflects the natural character of Les Village, where coastal landscapes meet green, unspoiled hills.
From the opening of registration, public enthusiasm was remarkably high. Positive responses came not only from residents but also from running enthusiasts eager to experience a trail run with a unique and challenging route.
The event received full support from the Government of Buleleng Regency. The vice Regent of Buleleng attended the event, delivered an opening speech, officially flagged off the runners, and personally joined the run, completing the 6.75-kilometer trail. In his remarks, he praised DLCC for initiating an event that successfully combines sport with village tourism promotion in a smart and sustainable manner.
He emphasized that the AmiLaib Segara Wana Trail Run was not merely a sports event but an effective way to introduce village tourism to a broader audience. He also expressed his hope that more similar events will be held in the future. To close his speech, he reminded all participants to respect nature by keeping the environment clean and preserving the surrounding landscape.
With the support of experienced pacers from the Singaraja Runners community, DLCC ensured that all runners followed safe routes and maintained a comfortable pace, especially for beginners. The 6.75-kilometer course was completed in an average time of 1 hour and 15 minutes due to its uphill and technical terrain. All finishers received a medal as a symbol of achievement and a lasting memory of the event.
The experience continued beyond the finish line. Participants took part in a lively Zumba session led by a local Zumba community. The event concluded with a door prize session, supported by various sponsors, which created a warm atmosphere of celebration.
Through the AmiLaib Segara Wana Trail Run, DLCC reaffirmed its commitment to delivering impactful activities that promote healthy living, strengthen collaboration with local governments, and support sustainable village-based tourism for the future.
