Amisewaka – Desa Les Community Center (“DLCC”) was delighted to be able to welcome senior team members from Amicorp Group, along with several other important guests. Their visit was a follow-up to the ‘Into the Wild’ dinner event at Locavore NXT, a fundraising effort to support DLCC’s mission.
The guests had the opportunity to witness firsthand the difference that the donations from the Amicorp Community Foundation (“ACF”) are making to the students and the communities in North Bali, particularly in Les Village.
During the tour led by DLCC Director, Rucina Ballinger, guests were introduced to our “from farm to table” concept. Produce from the organic garden is used both as learning material for students in the kitchen and as ingredients for free lunches for students and staff. Additionally, guests engaged in meaningful discussions with students, exchanging stories and offering motivation to help them stay inspired despite their challenges.
Our kitchen prepared a magnificent lunch, which included tuna dishes currently under development for sale in local supermarkets and, eventually, the international market.
The visit continued with a presentation of DLCC’s development plans, including an initiative to build dormitories for students who live far from the campus, and business opportunities to help DLCC become more self-sustaining. Their presence not only encouraged the students but also strengthened the shared vision and bond between DLCC and the Amicorp Community Foundation to creating positive change within communities and helping young people reach their full potential.
