Dream Big, Start Anywhere: Wira’s Journey To Becoming Staff At The Apurva Kempinski Bali

Wira, an alumnus from the second batch of Amisewaka — DLCC (DLCC), has an inspiring story that highlights the success of the institution. From the very beginning of his hospitality career, he aimed for The Apurva Kempinski Bali, one of Bali’s most famous five-star hotels, as his dream workplace. His admiration for the hotel started well before he fully knew the steps to get there. While still a student, Wira once expressed his desire to complete his training at the hotel. However, at that time, he passed an interview with another five-star hotel partnered with DLCC for student training placements.

Although he gained valuable experience during his training, Wira never abandoned his dream of one day joining The Apurva Kempinski Bali. He was determined to become part of the hotel’s team. After finishing his training, he took a chance by submitting his application independently. Just four days after sending his CV, he received a call inviting him for an interview. The selection process included three interview sessions. To him, this was simply part of the journey and the opportunity he had been waiting for. Impressively, on the same day as his final interview, he received confirmation from the HR team that he had been accepted as a daily worker.

His career continued to develop. Within just nine months of working, his dedication and strong performance attracted the attention of his superiors. By the end of June 2025, he was recommended for a promotion, and by September 2025, he was officially appointed as a staff member. This milestone marked an important step in his career and proved that persistence, commitment, and hard work can create meaningful opportunities.

Wira remains deeply grateful to DLCC for giving him the skills, discipline, and professional mindset necessary to succeed in the hospitality industry. He often shares that he feels proud whenever people ask where he studied, confidently replying that he is an alumnus of DLCC. His journey demonstrates that students from small villages can compete with and succeed in major hospitality destinations, even at world-class hotels like The Apurva Kempinski Bali. For him, this achievement is not the end but the beginning of a long journey toward building a brighter future.
