Amisewaka – DLCC participates in the first Tuna Festival in Les Village

Amisewaka – DLCC was invited to participate in the first tuna festival held in Les Village, an event organized by Culinary Storyteller, Ade Putri Paramadita, and the Dapoer Bali Moela restaurant. The festival, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, June 29-30, 2024, celebrated local cuisine and culture, bringing together food enthusiasts and community members from various regions. This event also served as an opportunity to introduce the projects we undertake at Amisewaka – DLCC. At the festival, Amisewaka – DLCC was given the chance to showcase our small business, Ami-Mart, which we usually open every Thursday at the Amisewaka building.

On Saturday, June 29, guests arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by Ade Putri and her talented son, Chef Amal. They served a series of delicious dishes featuring the festival’s main ingredient: tuna. Amisewaka – DLCC set up a charming stand offering a variety of fresh, natural juices and homemade snacks. These beverages became visitor favorites, providing refreshing relief in the North Bali heat.

The beverages included:

  • Turmeric Elixir: A refreshing blend of fresh turmeric, tamarind, coconut water, lemongrass, and palm sugar.
  • Rosella Kombucha: A tangy mix of kombucha, fermented rosella tea, lemon juice, and orange juice.
  • Ginger Explosion: A zesty combination of ginger, coconut water, lemongrass, and palm sugar.

In addition to these refreshing drinks, visitors enjoyed our signature rambutan flour cookies, brownies, and rosella jam pastelles. Products from our garden, such as dried lemongrass, moringa powder, mint tea, dried pandan, dried rosella, and salt, were also displayed for visitors to browse and purchase. Amisewaka’s book was purchased by many guests, with proceeds going to our educational programs.

At 3:00 PM, after successfully selling our products at the festival, we packed up our stand and returned to the Amisewaka campus. Our director, Rucina Ballinger, took around 30 guests on an in-depth tour of our center, highlighting our efforts to empower the young people of Buleleng Regency. Visitors were impressed with our facilities and the quality of our products, purchasing more beverages and snacks during the tour.

The celebration didn’t stop there. On Sunday, June 30, we set up another stand at Dapoer Bali Moela restaurant, which focused on selling fresh garden produce and refreshing drinks. The enthusiasm was palpable as visitors eagerly bought our stock, even requesting additional healthy beverages made with white turmeric to take home.

Participating in the first Tuna Festival was an incredible experience for Amisewaka – DLCC. It provided a platform to showcase our products and projects, connect with the community, and raise awareness about our programs. We look forward to more opportunities like this to engage with our supporters and continue our journey of empowering young people through education and skills development.
